Process

I have been hand building with red earthenware clay for over 35 years. The color of the wet clay makes me want to touch it, like digging in the red clay where I live in South Carolina.

After a bisque firing, the work is glazed with my own recipes, commercial glazes, and underglaze. Pieces are then low- fired to cone 04.

I will never tire of the surprise when I open a kiln.

I hope to communicate that which surrounds me, both physically and mystically--from earth, gardens, and man-made forms to archetypal symbols and theories.
